3t is currently looking to recruit a Drilling and Well Control Specialist on a permanent contract, located in Dyce, Aberdeen, UK.

The Role

Internal Relationships

  • Embedded within the Software Development and support infrastructure – part of the team
  • Communicating Drilling knowledge to software developers and QA’s
  • Work closely with the software and product design teams to define simulation development requirements
  • Work closely with support team for simulation issue resolution
  • Managing regular team meetings for project management, technical support and content development
  • Controlling and testing changes and new features
  • New content development control
  • Factory and site commissioning – factory testing and user acceptance testing
  • Drive & implement new learning content
  • Product specification to the team and defining the scope of work

Client Liaison

  • Working with customers to ensure the product Development Roadmap is aligned to customer needs.
  • Provides customer demonstrations of technical products and giving clear instructions
  • Assisting customers with simulator usage or other queries
  • Ownership of Rig visits, use of external SME contractors with responsibilities for customer communication regarding simulation issues, training in drilling and well control and improvement

Off Site and Travel Requirements

  • Participate in Exhibitions as and when required
  • Regular travel to the other 3t locations (offices, training centres and rig locations (on and offshore) and client locations

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required:

  • SME level knowledge in Drilling
  • IWCF or IADC Level 4
  • Drilling and well control experience – must have used Cyberbase
  • Offshore experience – running riser and casing operations, stuck pipe
  • Simulator experience (preferable)
  • Well control instruction experience (preferable)
  • Proactive, accurate and acute attention to detail
  • Clear, concise and organized note taking skills– to assist in the articulation of customer requirements to the team
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills – essential as a high-level of engagement with our customers will be required
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • A problem-solving attitude and an analytical thinking ability with ability to generate ideas and solutions
  • Passion for new product development and new technology

Salary: circa £70,000.00 per annum
