Military to Wind and BOOST package – ELCAS Funded Training

Military to Wind ELCAS Training Programme

Our Military to Wind training programme is the first of its kind. Working closely with wind sector employers and industry bodies we have created a bespoke, hybrid package combining GWO and ITC training modules.

The ELCAS-approved Military to Wind training programme provides all the mandatory certification required, whilst preparing you for your new wind sector career.

Programme Contents

At the end of our 4-week training programme you will be awarded an ‘ITC Level 3 Diploma in Safe Working Practice in the Wind Turbine Industry’ and your successful completion of the main learning outcomes necessary to work in the wind sector.

The programme covers the following:

Sea Survival provides the skills and knowledge to travel safely to and from offshore wind installations.

ART provides the skills and knowledge to successfully transport a colleague who cannot self-evacuate.

Fire Awareness provides the knowledge, skills and confidence to appropriately respond in the event of an emergency on an offshore wind installation.

GWO Working at Height & Manual Handling Combined encourages positive manual handling behaviour and safe work at heights in the wind industry.

EFA provides the knowledge and skills to administer lifesaving first aid measures.

BTT is widely considered to be the industry standard for all wind technicians.

This is a bespoke ELCAS-approved ITC Level 3 Certificate in Basic Offshore Operations Safety Training package, providing you with all the mandatory certifications you need to launch your journey into the Oil & Gas sector.

BOOST Package Contents

At the end of the 4 week training programme you will be awarded the ITC Level 3 Certificate in Basic Offshore Operations Safety Training, providing all the mandatory certifications you need to launch your journey into the Oil & Gas sector.

The programme covers the following:

Sea Survival provides the skills and knowledge to travel safely to and from offshore.

Lifting operations involve the safe handling, lifting, and transportation of heavy loads.

Helideck operations refer to the safe and efficient management of helicopter flights to and from offshore installations.

Offshore and helideck emergency response training focuses on preparing personnel for various emergency scenarios that might occur on offshore platforms, including fires, medical emergencies, or hazardous material spills.

A safety passport is a certification that verifies an individual has completed essential safety training and is qualified to work in hazardous environments.

Health and fitness evaluations, to ensure you are physically and mentally capable of performing tasks in challenging environments.

Applying for ELCAS funding

The MOD’s Enhanced Credits Scheme (ELC) promotes lifelong learning amongst members of the Armed Forces. You can utilise your ELCAS credits and save on the cost of the Military to Wind Training programme.

We also offer 0% finance options, so you can split any remaining programme cost into affordable monthly payments.
