General Manager – ODITCGuyana

The Company

ODITC, a joint venture (JV) between Guyana’s Orinduik Development Incorporated, Windsor Technologies, and 3t EnerMech has been established to develop a world class training centre in Guyana, to support the region’s growing need to develop its local oil and gas talent.

3t EnerMech history: A strategic alliance combining expert instruction, best in-class facilities, and market-leading knowledge from 3t and EnerMech to create sustainable training management solutions in emerging international locations. The joint venture delivers world leading training and competency solutions encompassing a blend of traditional training, digital learning technologies and training compliance management platforms.

The Role

The General Manager will be responsible for the development and successful operation of the ODITC Guyana training centre including execution of the strategy, management of all operations, P&L ownership and leadership of all in-country resources. In this role you will have an extensive understanding of the industry and market needs pertaining to training and competency, supporting the development of product strategy and geographical presence, as well as external stakeholder engagement.

As General Manager, you will proven experience in leadership of operations in order to guide the business line on technical, resourcing, contractual and commercial compliance. Striving to ensure an integrated and customer focussed culture of in line with our values.

Financial:

  • Full P&L responsibility
  • Limits as per Authority Matrix
  • Delivering or exceeding agreed Revenue Budget
  • Delegation of financial responsibility in absence of Line Manager

Critical Contacts and Relationships:

Internal:

  • ODITC Board, 3t & EnerMech Senior Leadership, JV Partners, Sales and BD resources, Operational teams Human Resources, Business Development, Finance, QHSE

External:

  • Existing and potential customers in Guyana, Government Departments and stakeholder groups, Local Content boards, and wider Industry bodies

  • Ensure that all ODITC quality and operational procedures are adhered to at all times

  • Follow relevant external accrediting body requirements for QHSE

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Full operational oversight and responsibility for an OPITO approved training operation, reporting to the Board of Directors
  • To provide regional leadership to the business line, ensuring the presence and development of competent personnel within the business line regional teams and their development
  • Preparation of budgets and delivery of budgeted revenue and forecasts as per relevant business management tools
  • Management of the commercial process ensuring operations are profitable and invoicing is performed correctly and in a timely manner
  • Provide monthly reports on KPIs, revenue and forecasts to the Board
  • Provide support to the business development team in pursuit of key projects and clients
  • Propose and procure assets and control Capex spend
  • Develop close working relationships with Clients’ management and ensure awareness of customer requirements and key issues
  • Liaise with clients to ensure appropriate service delivery and manage complaints in a timely manner
  • Work with accrediting bodies, including OPITO, complying with standards and requirements at all times
  • Provide credible management support to clients and teams
  • Review and give strategic input to business line, regional and global tenders as required
  • Manage workload within the operation by planning and allocating activities to the team
  • Manage and support performance management of the team , dealing with any employee issues effectively and with the assistance of Human Resources
  • Provide mentoring and development plans for direct reports
  • Resource department for current and future needs ensuring competent resources are in place to deliver contractual requirements

Recognised Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Experience of working in a training and competency role, preferably with experience of OPITO processes
  • Relevant management experience
  • Demonstrable experience in one or more of ODITC’s target sectors
  • Regulatory experience
  • Demonstrate the ability to grow and develop cohesive teams
  • Good understanding of commercial/cost awareness
  • P&L experience
