TotalEnergies Intern Experience

Across our 10 UK-based training centres, we regularly welcome some of the leading names in energy into our facilities to experience training with our expert 3t Training Services team.

At the end of August, we had the pleasure of hosting a group of TotalEnergies UK interns in our Aberdeen facility to participate in our Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET) experience.

Working with the multi-energy giant on a bespoke request to allow the group of interns to observe the HUET section of our survival courses, additionally, we went one step further…

Alongside the option to observe the training, we offered a tailored session allowing the interns to participate in the training to give them vital first-hand experience of what is involved in the training course and how we help prepare individuals for travelling – and working – offshore.

The engaging and immersive tailored session, which was run exclusively for the interns, included the required theoretical learning stages prior to the practical. These lessons ensured that the group had all the background knowledge and understanding they needed to commence the practical stages of the HUET course.

Between the classroom-based theoretical learning and the pool-based practical aspects, the interns learned about the steps individuals must take before they travel to and from offshore oil and gas installations and vessels by helicopter.

By immersing the group in specific scenarios tailored to pre-flight and in-flight requirements, the training experience equipped the delegates with the basic emergency response knowledge and skills required in the event of a helicopter emergency such as escaping from a ditched helicopter in a submerged or capsized situation.

An informative and exciting day for the group, it was great to have them in and we look forward to seeing where their learning journey takes them next!
