Danielle Hickin recently joined 3t’s US team as a Bid Writer, bringing fresh expertise in proposal writing and grant applications.
With a background in education, Danielle began her career as a Special Education Teacher and Adjunct Professor before transitioning into proposal writing.
“I spent my days teaching students with disabilities and my evenings teaching adults how to become effective teachers,” she explains.
“When I decided to leave the classroom, I took a position with an educational technology company as a Grant and Proposal Writer.”
The transition proved to be a perfect fit for Danielle’s skillset and interests:
“I worked closely with the sales team to help them find funding sources for interested customers.
“I love to write and am very competitive, so I found the grant and proposal role was perfect for me.”
Having hit the ground running in her new role, Danielle is embracing the opportunity to apply her skills in a new industry setting.
“My job at 3t involves finding funding opportunities, filling out applications, writing proposals, and working with the team to create programs aligned to grant specifications.
“I think learning is so valuable, so I love that my role will allow for even more people to receive education and training.”
Looking ahead, her focus is firmly on expanding 3t’s reach through strategic registrations.
“My priorities for the first few months are to get 3t registered on all the important procurement websites. There are so many opportunities out there, but we have to be registered to even begin to apply for them.”
And despite a busy first few months with 3t, Danielle still finds time to maintain an active lifestyle outside of work:
“In my free time you can find me at the gym, pool, tennis courts, or out on a walk with my dog Sula.”
3t’s training centers in Houston, Texas and Houma, Louisiana are safety-critical training facilities for energy and high-risk environments. The facilities are equipped with engaging training scenarios and high-impact simulation technology designed to replicate extreme real-life conditions, ensuring those working in hazardous environments receive unparalleled preparation for real-world challenges.
