The Role
To support and assist course instructors with various training courses including but not limited to; Offshore Emergency Response Team Member & Leader, Helideck Emergency Response Team Member & Leader, BOSIET/FOET, STCW Fire Fighting, ensuring courses are set up and carried out safely and where applicable in line with awarding body requirements.
To ensure that the fire ground, fire equipment and PPE maintenance and cleaning is carried out in accordance with the company’s maintenance schedule including but not limited to daily, weekly and monthly checks. Perform FaceFit testing when appropriate.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To provide assistance to qualified instructors ensuring delegate safety and wellbeing at all times.
- Maintain and service fire fighting and rescue equipment according to maintenance schedule.
- Cleaning and maintaining the fire ground.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of current health and safety legislation and procedures.
- Develops knowledge of all current training materials, in accordance with their training plan.
- Maintain a high standard of appearance at all times, wearing company-provided clothing/PPE as required, positively reflecting the company’s image.
- The job holder is expected to be flexible and undertake additional duties commensurate with the overall responsibilities of the job, and that are within their competence, when required.
- The job holder will undertake all activities in compliance with the requirements of the company’s and/or the clients safety management system (SMS).

- Previous experience with the operation and maintenance of fire-fighting equipment preferred.
- If the candidate wishes to progress to fire instructor level in the future, previous experience as an operational/retained firefighter is required.
