Leading water contractor, Morrisons Water Services (MWS), is celebrating the phenomenal success of its apprentices, who are the first to complete the new Water Network Operative Apprenticeship standard with 3t.
Seven of the eight apprentices achieved distinctions in the comprehensive 18-month programme, which covers competencies in main and service laying, repair, and maintenance, backfill and reinstatement.
The MWS apprentices, who are working on contracts for Yorkshire Water WSP (Water Services Partnership), Yorkshire Water P4Y (Partnership for Yorkshire), United Utilities and Welsh Water contracts started their apprenticeships in utilities and construction training within 3t Training Services, near Manchester in July 2022.
They completed their End Point Assessments (EPA) recently after carrying out a written test, interview, and practical assessment, which was undertaken by assessors from CABWI, who awarded seven distinctions and one pass.
Jayne Ellison, Group Emerging Talent Manager, at MWS said: “I am very proud of what the apprentices have achieved and look forward to seeing them progress further within the business. They have all worked really hard, and it shows in their results. The apprentices are now in the process of entering a variety of roles within the business such as Operatives, Team leaders and Trainee Supervisors. Previously Utility and Construction Training LTD, following its acquisition last year by 3t (previously 3t Energy Group), the utilities and construction training specialist now operates as part of 3t’s rebranded Training Services division (previously AIS Survivex), which is responsible for training 130k delegates every year.
